The Bedesten, in the middle of the bazaar, is in the words of the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism the oldest commercial building in Trabzon. It has no inscription; it is accepted to have been built at the end of the 15th century. With its single-dome plan it is the only example of its kind among Turkish bedestens. After restoration it came into use as a handicrafts market and a café.

It has no inscription. It is accepted to have been built at the end of the 15th century, after the conquest, among the Gülbahar Hatun endowments; because it is mentioned in an imaret list dated 1512, its construction is placed between 1461 and 1512.

Its roof was damaged in the Russian raid of 1633–34; under a restoration project by a team from Karadeniz Technical University, approved in 2001, the roof and mezzanine floors were renewed and the building came into use as a handicrafts market and a café.
