Trabzon’s main square is a few minutes from the hotel door. It is a car-free pedestrian area shaded by trees, and it has been the centre of the city since the 1937 plan. The first stop for getting to know the city.

Good to know before you go
The square has gone by different names through history: Kafir Meydanı, Gavur Meydanı and Meydan-ı Şarki in the Ottoman period; later Belediye Meydanı and Atatürk Alanı.
